The Sermon on the Mount; The Beatitudes (산상수훈: 하늘의 축복/팔복)

1When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain; and after He sat down, His disciples came to Him.

예수께서 무리들을 보았을 때 산으로 올라가셨다. 그리고 그가 자리에 앉으신 후에 그의 제자들이 그에게로 다가왔다.

2 He opened His mouth and began to teach them, saying,

그는 입을 열어 다음과 같이 말씀하시며 그들을 가르치기 시작했다.

3"Blessed are the poor in spirit, _ theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

영혼이 가난한 자들은 복이 있나니, 천국이 그들의 것이니라.

4"Blessed are those who mourn, _ they shall be com_ted.

몹시 슬퍼하는 자들은 복이 있나니 그들이 위로를 받을 것이니라.

 "Blessed are the gentle, _ they shall inherit the earth.

온유한 자들은 복이 있나니 그들이 땅을 유산으로 받을 것이니라.

6"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst _ righteousness, _ they shall be satisfied.

정의에 굶주리고 목마른 자들은 복이 있나니 그들이 만족을 얻을 것이니라.

7"Blessed are the merciful, _ they shall receive mercy.

자비로운 자들은 복이 있나니 그들이 자비를 받을 것이니라.

8"Blessed are the pure in heart, _ they shall see God.

마음이 깨끗한 자들은 복이 있나니 그들이 하나님을 볼 것이니라.

9"Blessed are the peacemakers, _ they shall be called sons of God.

평화주의자들은 복이 있나니 그들이 하나님의 아들들이라 불릴 것이니라.

10"Blessed are those who have been persecuted _ the sake of righteousness, _ theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

정의를 위해 박해 받는 자들은 복이 있나니 천국이 그들의 것이니라.

11"Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.

나 예수로 인해 사람들이 너희를 모욕하고 박해하고 또 온갖 종류의 악을 너희에게 말할 때 너희는 복이 있느니라.

12"Rejoice and be glad, _ your reward in heaven is great; _ in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were be_e you.

환희하고 기뻐하라 천국에서의 너희에게 돌아갈 보상이 크니라. 사람들이 너희 이전의 선지자들도 이와 똑같이 박해했느니라.
